In the continuing effort to provide a professional networking platform and keep members apprised of current payroll practices and legislative changes, the Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by the Greater Kansas City Chapter-APA. Our chapter commitment to all members is to increase the Payroll professional’s skill level through education and chapter support while providing educational outreach to the residents of the Greater Kansas City Metro area.

Each year the scholarship fund is to be distributed to worthy member recipients as follows:

  • 50% reimbursement for CPP/FPC exam fees after successful certification (passing grades.)

  • A scholarship shall be granted to one (1) active chapter members which cover the registration fee of the chapter sponsored Regional Conference. (Mileage, hotel expenses are the responsibility of the members.)

Scholarships are awarded to active chapter members of the Greater Kansas City APA who meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant has requested funding from their employer and has been denied. Applicant must present denial letter on company letterhead for consideration.

  • Applicant must be a member of the Chapter in good standing.

  • Applicant has not received this scholarship in the previous four calendar years.

The Scholarship Fund receives appropriations through chapter-sponsored raffles, volunteer donations as a result of member participation in various community outreach efforts, and other miscellaneous voluntary contributions. The Scholarship Fund is subject to all auditing and finance reviews outlined in the chapters by-laws.
